FAQs

Mum & Me Fitness is a friendly, supportive fitness programme for mums (and mums-to-be) that combines effective workouts with the ability to bring your baby or child along. You exercise while your little one plays safely nearby, all without needing childcare.

Our classes are designed for all mums and pregnant people — whether you’re new to exercise or returning after having a baby.

No prior fitness level is required! Classes are adapted to suit all abilities, so whether you’re just beginning or getting back into exercise, we’ll help you work safely at your own pace.

Yes! We recommend waiting until after your 6-week postnatal check-up (or medical clearance following a c-section) before joining any postnatal exercise. Once you’ve got the all-clear, we’re here to support you safely.

Baby safety is our top priority. All classes are designed specifically for parents exercising with their babies, and we take multiple steps to ensure a safe and supportive environment:

  • Age-appropriate class design: Exercises are carefully selected to be safe for parents while accommodating the presence of babies. There are no fast or uncontrolled movements.
  • Safe positioning of babies: Babies remain either securely held, worn in an approved baby carrier, or placed on individual mats within arm’s reach of their parent at all times.
  • Qualified instructors: Our instructors are trained in postnatal exercise and baby-safe practices, and they continuously monitor the room to ensure correct technique and safe positioning.
  • Controlled class environment: Classes take place in a clean, temperature-controlled space with enough room for each parent and baby to move safely without crowding.
  • Reduce play mat/toy sharing: Each baby stays on their own mat or with their parent to reduce any risk of accidental contact.
  • Parent-led care: Parents remain fully responsible for their baby during class and are encouraged to respond immediately to their baby’s needs (feeding, soothing, changing) at any time.
  • Hygiene and cleanliness: Mats and equipment are cleaned regularly, and we encourage good hand hygiene before and after class.
  • Listening to your baby: Breaks are always welcome. If a baby becomes unsettled, parents are encouraged to pause, comfort their baby, or step out if needed.

Our goal is to create a calm, welcoming space where parents can move confidently while keeping their babies safe, close, and comfortable at all times

This class is suitable for you if you’re looking for a supportive, welcoming way to exercise alongside your baby, at your own pace. It may be a great fit if:
  • You’re postnatal and want to return to exercise gently and safely
  • You’d like a class where babies are welcome and expected (feeding, changing, and settling are always okay)
  • You prefer a non-judgemental, relaxed environment with no pressure to “keep up”
  • You want guidance from a qualified instructor who understands postnatal bodies
  • You enjoy exercising in a small, friendly group of parents in a similar stage of life
You don’t need to be “fit” already — exercises are fully adaptable, and you’re encouraged to take breaks whenever you or your baby need them. If you’re unsure, you’re always welcome to reach out before booking so we can help you decide whether the class suits your needs and stage of recovery.

Children up to 4 years old are welcome on the gym floor. If your child is mobile, it is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to ensure they remain close by and do not disrupt others.

You’re very welcome to attend without your child. The class is designed especially for mums, so babies are welcome, but you’re absolutely free to come along on your own if you prefer.
